Jim Carrey's make-up in the role of "Grinch" took more than 8 hours and therefore it was a complete torture for him. He went under this makeup 100 times. Carrey even wanted to withdraw from the project because of this issue, until the producer of the film found an expert who taught CIA agents how to survive under torture. According to Carey, this expert gave him a lot of "useful" advice, but in his opinion, it was for the children. In the end, Carey was able to cope by listening to the songs of the band "Bee Gees".
