It took a long time for Hollywood to recognize Viola Davis' talent. Throughout the 1990s and beyond, Davis played television roles and appeared in roles named after their careers. Remember that social worker in "Traffic" or that policewoman in "Kate & Leopold"? Even his roles in "Solaris" and "Antwone Fisher" did not take him out of this format. But playing in the Oscar nomination for "Doubt" changed everything. His characters began to be called categories and he was contacted to star in major films such as "Knight and Day" and "Eat, Worship, Love". He was once again nominated for an Academy Award for "Help", but his main success came with his role in "How to Get Away with Murder". Davis then starred in "Suicide Squad" and eventually won an Academy Award for "Fences."
