Tofigh Yearbook

The first issue of Tawfiq was published on May 20, 1302, and its publication continued in three discontinuous periods. The first period was from 1302 to 1318 under the management of Hossein Tawfiq, which ended with his death in 1318. Tawfiq was a semi-humorous and semi-modern publication at the beginning of this period. From the middle of the fifth year, after gaining the privilege of printing cartoons in it, it became more humorous and after a while from 1311, it became completely literary. During his six years of literary activity, most of Tawfiq's poems were poetic. From 1317, Tawfiq again became completely humorous-social. The symmetry of the first period of Tawfiq with the rule of Reza Shah Pahlavi (1304-1320) caused the contents of the magazine to be censored, but in the next period (1320-1320) this problem did not exist. In the first period, Tawfiq focused more on moral and social issues and was therefore published without interruption.
