The World Pillow Fighting Championships is one of the most highly anticipated events of the summer. With a history of over 50 years of mud splashing, feathers flying, and great fun, the Pillow Fight Championships is an event that celebrates community, family, and freedom. The event originated in Sonoma County in the small wine country town of Kenwood, California. Two local community groups held charitable functions to help raise funds that would make improvements to the town. One of these charitable functions is the World Pillow Fighting Championships. A steel pole was made to span the Los Guillicos Spring Creek, the creek was then filled with mud and the Pillow Fights were ready to make history. Since then, the Pillow Fights welcomes folks who travel from all over the world to take part in pillow fight competitions. The next Pillow Fight events are TBD...until then, have a happy 4th of July!
