Women have traditionally taken part in Israel’s military before and since the founding of the state in 1948 and although it might seem normal for most Israelis to see a pretty young female (you have to admit, these photos make the young female recruits look like fashion models) walking around with a fully automatic weapon casually slung over their shoulder like a fashion accessory, it's definitely a strange sight for the rest of us.
