The Strangest Weather Events

Of course, the Aurora Borealis, or Northern Lights, are perhaps the best-known (and most hunted) of all the world’s weird weather phenomena. This incredible light display of neon greens, pinks, and yellows happens when atoms are energized as they collide with the atmosphere – and it can be a breathtaking and surreal event to witness. They’re best viewed far in the north on clear, inky black winter nights. Finnish Lapland is one of the best places to see them – and this is one event that’s high up on many people’s bucket lists!
