Protagonist Tamar Rabinyan, a Jewish woman born in Iran but raised in Israel, is a Mossad agent assigned to disabling an Iranian nuclear reactor.[1] Her mission is to neutralize Iran's air defenses, so that Israeli warplanes can bomb a nuclear reactor and prevent Iran from obtaining an atomic bomb.[4] When her mission fails, Rabinyan becomes stuck in the land of her childhood, where she discovers her local roots and befriends Iranian pro-democracy activists.
