Ronaldinho to become grandfather aged just 45 as Barcelona and Brazil legend’s son, 19, to have first child
Joao Mendes was just 14 when he signed his first contract with Nike in May 2019 in the presence of his stunning mum and Ronaldinho, the face of the company when he was crowned the world ’s best player in 2005. The Rio de Janeiro-born youngster signed his first professional contract with Brazil’s Cruzeiro aged 13 before moving to Europe.
He was assigned to Barcelona’s youth team after trials but despite improvements with the U19 squad was let go by the Catalan giants last summer so he could link up with Burnley’s U-21s squad. His current contract expires on June 30 2026.
