Titanoboa, a giant relative of modern boas, grew up to 43 feet long and weighed 1.25 tons, easily capable of crushing humans. Fossils discovered in Colombia date back to 58-60 million years ago, shortly after the dinosaurs' extinction. This colossal snake thrived in the hot, wet climate of the Paleocene Epoch, which encouraged its massive size.
