Ruby Dhalla is a Canadian politician and is the first Sikh woman to serve in the House of Commons. She first gained international acclaim at the age of 10 years old when a temple in her hometown of Winnipeg was attacked by Indian soldiers. In response, she wrote a personal letter to the Prime Minister of India to see if there was anything she could do to help. After graduating college, she became a chiropractic doctor and shortly after, starred in a leading role in a Bollywood film, and even placed second in the Miss India Canada pageant
