March 20, kicks off a major celebration in honor of spring and the new year. In Iran, the vernal equinox ushers in Nowruz, a celebration of nature’s rebirth that lasts for two weeks. As is the case with most holidays founded around seasonal shifts, Nowruz dates way, way back in history.

Shirin Moghaddam, the woman behind all the celebrities make-ups and founder of Afsoon Beauty Salons with three branches in Tehran. Shirin started her career at the age of 26 as a stylist, she worked in few salons before she decides to open her own beauty salon called Afsoon.
