The strangest museums in the world
Mummy Museum, Guanajuato, Mexico:
In the middle of the 19th century, in the small city of Guanajuato, one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites, hundreds of bodies were buried in the Santa Paula Pantheon. If the families were unable to pay the burial tax, the bodies were exhumed. It was at that time that they realized that the bodies were embalmed through a natural process, most likely due to the unique factors of the region.
