
While experts often view the midlife crisis as more of a myth than a scientifically proven phenomenon, if you do experience age-related distress, it may loosely follow three stages: a triggering event or stressor leading to concerns about aging, a loss of life purpose, or fear of death; a crisis period involving self-examination, exploration of new passions or identities, and potential changes in relationships; and ultimately, a resolution where you become more comfortable with yourself and accept what life has in store.
