The U.S. Surgeon General, Dr. Vivek Murthy, has warned that even light or moderate alcohol consumption can increase the risk of cancer. In 2020, over 740,000 cancer cases worldwide were attributed to alcohol use, yet public awareness remains low, with less than half of Americans recognizing the connection.
