  1. Ottoman Empire (1299-1922)
The Ottoman Empire was dissolved at the end of WWI. The WWI was between England and German and the Turks supported the Germans. As the Germans lost the war, the Ottomans also had to suffer punishment. The British applied treaty of Sevres on the empire which meant the breaking of the empire. To protect their own interests, Kemal Attaturk overthrew the Khalifa, Muhammad VI and made himself President. Democracy was replaced by Monarchy and the Ottoman Empire was broken.
