Why are left handed people exceptional?

Left-handed in sports like tennis, badminton and boxing are very successful. Left-handed athletes compete with right-handed rivals with left-handed rivals, so left-handed hands are always ready to face right-handed hands, but a right-handed athlete is usually not prepared to face a left-leaning competitor.
